Kitchen Wallpaper Borders and More: Working on Our Dream Home
The thrill of purchasing your own home does not seem to go away, even if you are on your second or third property. My husband and I bought a starter home five years ago. Two children later, it was time for an upgrade. We needed more space; in particular, we wanted both children to have their own rooms and still have space for a guest room as well.
We put the house on the market and it sold relatively quickly. I would like to think it was because of all the upgrades we did; my husband and I are not particularly handy, but we enjoyed working on our home. I tackled things like painting, kitchen wallpaper borders and stylish accents. He put down flooring, sanded cabinets and even installed new light fixtures.

Because our home sold so fast, the pressure was on to find a new property. Luckily, we found something we loved in a great school district. It had all the space we could want, plus a good bit of land for our children. The only problem is that it is a bit of a fixer upper. We are up for the challenge, but I'm honestly not sure where to begin!
My husband is going to get started in the kitchen; it needs to be modernized. My plan is to start in the guest bathroom. I need to take down the old wallpaper, paint and then decide between a few wallpaper borders to give it a fresh look. Once those jobs are tackled, we plan to lay down new flooring in the living room. I cannot wait to see how the house turns out! I certainly believe that this property is our dream home, and I see us living there for many years to come.
